I grew up on a hobby farm in Vermont. I’m a graduate of Vermont Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Diversified Agriculture and an Associate Degree in Dairy Herd Management. I have 10 years of combined experience on both midsize and large grass-fed and organic beef operations, dairy, sheep, swine, poultry, produce production, produce sales, and farmers’ market management and sales. I grew up working on diversified farms, but never considered farming a viable career path for myself until I worked on a successful grass-fed beef ranch in Sonoma County, California while pursuing a degree in Economics.

A year later, I moved back to Vermont, transferred to a degree in Diversified Agriculture at Vermont Tech, and started the business planning process. Before I graduated in 2016, I accepted a full-time job in the bovine genetics industry, where I served as the AI Technician Team Leader and Reproduction Consultant for Vermont and Northern New York. During my employment, I worked with some of the Northeast’s largest dairy farms to improve reproduction and genetics through herd-management software analysis, reproduction protocols, and artificial insemination service.

That same year, in the early spring of 2016, I founded Grass Cattle Company LLC, a wholesale grass-fed beef business on leased land in Shoreham, Vermont with 30 head of feeder cattle. I became a producer for a grass-fed beef cooperative of about 80 farms throughout the Northeast that marketed wholesale, grass-fed beef to specialty markets not easily accessible to the individual farmer.

Upon joining the cooperative, I took a seat on the board of directors. In August 2016 I accepted the role of executive director at the beef cooperative, where I had the honor of working with some of the Northeast’s finest grass-fed beef farmers and ranchers to produce the highest-quality grass-fed beef served with a Mission! I oversaw the implementation of cloud-based herd-management software that along with data collected and submitted by our producers, enabled the cooperative to track, predict, and control the quality of it's supply.

I now work at an amazing B Corp that sources sustainably raised meats. I work on their team to source grass-fed beef and improve beef quality. 

On March 29, 2019 I purchased a farm in Charlotte, Vermont. On the new home farm I’ll continue my goal to scale the grass-fed beef supply chain in the Northeast using the proven tools and infrastructure of conventional agriculture, best practices in cattle and land management, and mass-aggregation supported by information technology.
